The Oracle characters look like the image of 見, a seed with roots, with the addition of an area encircled around the seed, which I think is a seed pod.. The seal character is altogether different, and shows a flower (see 夏 for basis) with a circle around it. The face was analogically like the "flower" of a plant, and this is the reason why correspondences for the face, or complexion, include summer and fire.
