As people enter the world to take on this incarnation, they transition from the experience of oneness to one of perceived separation. This is mirrored in the birth process, where the baby is held within the mother as one, and then is birthed out into the world to become two. This is one macrocosmic/microcosmic expression of the same thing. This is why the character starts out at the top as one point and transitions into two separate lines.
